Greetings and thanks for stopping by our site!
My name is Paul Pachmayer and I am a certified RC addict. I'm your host here @ FastElectricRC.com and our new eStore BuyFastElectricRC.com. We are very excited about Fast Electric RC, LLC and look forward to growing our sites, information and resources for you.
I started into the RC hobby in my late teens and have been involved in one way or another for 20 years (pushing mid-40s; acting 20). My first experience with RC vehicles was in high school. In an electronics course I was taking we had to build a electronic device from scratch for the final. I chose to build a RC car. The finished car worked great and got me an A+ for a grade. That's when it all began... The car was similar to the inexpensive RC vehicles you can buy today, left, right, forward and reverse were the controls. Not a road burner but it was a start.
My first really fast RC vehicle was a boat, I got my hands on one of the first Cheetah tunnel hulls produced and powered it with a K&B 3.5 outboard. What a rush!! I had just got out of the Air Force and happened to be living in Florida at the time. The boat was a rocket and sealed my addiction! I have also built and flown airplanes and although they are fun I found myself leaning toward surface vehicles.
![[Paul and Kelly - Fine Design Racing]](images/paul-kelly.jpg) Today my main RC passion is for boats, scale hydroplanes in particular are my favorite type and they are pretty much my main focus. I really enjoy the challenge of making these electric powered water rockets run; it's definitely harder to make them run fast as opposed to nitro burners. I also enjoy scratch building. That is where the pride of running one of your own creations really comes in. I build quite a few boats and most are for other people; that's one of the reasons for this site.
I also race a E-Maxx, I have found it to be a riot. These are a lot of fun to race on the local outdoor tracks. Nothing like getting a little air time and landing on another truck! For a ten pound RC vehicle these things are fast and with some work handle exceptionally well. The E-Maxx takes a close second to boats in my book.
Last but not least is my Lite Machines Corona. The Corona is a electric powered helicopter. I needed a little something to buzz around the yard and the Corona fit the bill. One of the great things about it is it uses all the electronics from my boats and is crash friendly, something that comes in pretty handy when you're teaching yourself how to fly!
Hopefully you'll find some useful information on the pages of this site and in our message boards. I'll do my best to help you any way I can. Got questions? Just ask by posting to the new Fast Electric RC Discussion Boards. Need a scratch built boat; lets talk! How about a custom painted car/truck body? no problem there!
We'll carry a decent inventory of RC bodies, boats, batteries and hardware for sale, just check out our eStore, BuyFastElectricRC.com, to see what's available and check back often as we will be receiving new inventory almost daily! Over time, we hope to grow our line-up and continue to offer the best products the RC business has to offer, not necessarily the cheapest but what I would use on my own personal boats, trucks and cars -- the stuff that works!
Again, thanks for stopping by. Why not stop by our Fast Electric RC Discussion Boards and join in the conversation? Now go charge those batteries and have some fun!!
